Saltwater Inland Marsh Fishing Charters
Lucky 7 Charters is a service oriented company specializing in fishing charters. We are located only 40 minutes from the New Orleans French Quarter. We spend our days fishing the Barataria-Terrebone Estuary located in southeast Louisiana between New Orleans and Grand Isle.
The inland saltwater marshes and bays are teaming with wildlife as we target redfish, speckled trout, bass, flounder, black drum, and sheepshead.
We also provide Nature Tours and Photography Excursions to capture alligators, a wide array of birds, and much more in their natural habitat!

Frequently Asked Questions
We want your trip to be as enjoyable as possible, and you might have some questions. Read below to learn more.
What am I fishing for?
We target Redfish (Red Drum); but, we can also catch Speckled Trout, Black Drum, Flounder, and Sheephead during the course of your Fishing Charter.
What types of boats do you use?
All of our Captains run 21’-24’ center console open bay boats.
Do you provide all of the Gear and Tackle needed?
Yes we do! We provide all Rods and Reels for your use during your charter. But, you can bring your own if you want to. We love using artificial lures with jigs, spinner lures, and gold spoons. We can also use market bait with a jig and cork. The weather, season, and/or current fishing conditions usually determine what we will be using the day of your charter. It is our job, as your Fishing Guide, to put you in the best position possible for YOU to catch fish.
How long will we be out on the water?
Our Captains try to have you under way by Safe Light or Daybreak. That will give us six-seven hours on the water. For example, if we leave the dock by 5:30am we are usually back at the dock between 11:30-12:30. However, this is your trip and we can customize the day to fit your needs.
This is my first time... Can I still book a Fishing Charter and catch fish?
No big deal... We have you covered! Your Fishing Guide will spend the day with you and instruct you on the proper techniques needed to catch fish. We enjoy being part of those first time memories!
What am I responsible for Bringing on my Charter Trip?
The most important thing we can recommend is a pair of Polarized Sunglasses. We would also suggest your favorite sun block, hat, clothing to match the season, and a Camera or Phone with a Camera feature to capture everything from the sunrise to your catch of the day. You will also need a fishing license purchased through Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries and a Picture ID. It is always a good idea to bring whatever snacks and beverages (Yes, Alcohol is allowed) you may want while on your Fishing Charter along with a small Ice Chest to transport your cleaned and packaged catch home with you.
Can I drink alcohol on the boat?
Yes! It is ok with us and legal to consume alcohol while you are on the boat.
Do I need a License to Fish?
Yes! Any person 16 years or older is required by law to have a fishing license in their possession while fishing. You can get your Louisiana Fishing Charter License Here.
Does our Guide clean our catch?
Yes. We clean the fish you catch as a courtesy for all of our clients.
What do we do if its raining the day of our trip?
Southeast Louisiana does have unique weather patterns to put it simple. We will fish if it is scattered showers and there is no threat of lightning. We can wait out a downpour and leave the dock later or reschedule on a day that fits your schedule.
Will the fish bite if it's really windy?
Yes. Our Fishing Guides will know where to fish under those and various other weather conditions. It is our job to put you in best possible position and give you the best instruction to be successful on your fishing charter.
It sure is cold outside! Can we still catch fish?
We fish year around. Southeast Louisiana can provide some of the best Winter fishing that you can experience.
Do I have to bait my own hook or handle the fish I catch?
Our fishing guides are working for you. We would be happy to bait your hook and handle all the fish either into the ice chest or back into the water. We will also help you handle the fish to get the perfect pose for a photograph with your catch. Watch how we do it and we will help you do it if you want to.
Can you teach me how to catch fish?
Of course we can. We would be happy to do so! Our fishing guides will work with you from beginning till end while showing you all the techniques needed to catch fish. We can teach you how to bait your own hook, casting your line, setting the hook at the right time, reeling your catch into the net, and taking your catch off the hook for a photo. We are here for you.
Do I have to provide my own bait?
No need. We will provide all bait and lures used during your Fishing Charter.
